Cookies and localStorage are different
Cookies are small values that a browser can send with requests to a website. localStorage keeps values in a particular browser for a particular site and does not automatically send them with requests. Both can remember choices, so both deserve a clear explanation.
The supplied page scripts use localStorage only when you select one of the preference controls below. They do not set browser cookies, load analytics or track you across sites. Hosting infrastructure may use separate technical mechanisms outside these scripts; this page describes the storage implemented in the website itself.
Your browser preference
Selecting a choice records only that preference. Allowing preferences does not enable any analytics, advertising or additional storage feature in this version.

This value does not include your name, email address, recipe choices or a unique visitor identifier. It is local to the browser and device where you save it. Private browsing or storage restrictions may prevent persistence.
What is not stored by these tools
Menu tabs, navigation state and open recipe sections are not saved by the site scripts. The contact tool does not store your draft in localStorage. A downloaded message file or copied text is managed by your device, not by this preference control.
Changing your mind
Return to this page at any time to choose Essential Only or clear the saved value. You can also delete site data through browser settings. Clearing browser storage does not delete downloaded files, clipboard history or emails you have sent.
